You Are Never In Total Darkness

Do You Struggle With The Power of Darkness

I am feeling God has a few of His own who are in need of some encouragement today.

  • Are you struggling with finding your self worth and identity because somehow over the years and the busyness of life you have lost who you are? Know, you are not alone.
  • Are you struggling in a difficult relationship? Do you struggle with a battle within you to know if you stay and fight for your marriage or is it time to walk away? Know, you are not alone.
  • Are you fighting with health needs? Are you in pain all the time? Are you frustrated with fighting with the doctors or insurance companies to get them to listen to you, to hear you, and to help you? Know, you are not alone.
  • Are you in a season of struggling with your child/ren to get them to listen to you. Do you feel like they are distancing themselves from you and your family? Are you frustrated and discouraged? My friend, do not walk away from this struggle. Keep pray, keep loving, and keep reaching out to them. They need you, even though they may not feel as though they do. Fight for your child! Remain their safe place. Know, you are not alone.
  • Are you a new parent who is fighting sleep deprivation and as a result feel the weight of darkness all around, but you do not tell anyone as this is suppose to be one of your happiest times in your life, as you hold the love of your life in your arms? Know, you are not alone.

My friend, God gave me this verse for you, who are in pain today.

“Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”” John 8:12 NKJV

No matter how dark life might seem, please know there is a light that is wrapped around you. This light is so you will never remain in total darkness. It is God’s light which surrounds you and has you consumed because one day you believed in Him.

Allow that light to shine on your darkness while you use it to light the way out of this dark time. Follow it until you find the peace and comfort you need to not feel alone.

My friend, reach out to those who are closest to you. Allow them to help you, pray for you, and encourage you.

If you feel they are not enough and you would rather reach out to someone who doesn’t know you, feel free to leave a comment below. I am here to lift you up in prayer.

My hope God uses today’s encouragement to touch your heart and to remind you, you are not alone.

Love, Strength and Sunsets

The Same Love That Created The Sunset, Loves You as Well

I hope my daughter doesn’t mind my sharing an absolutely beautiful sunset she sent me last night as she was crossing over the water on her way home. This sunset can only be made by God, it’s Creator.

Today’s message is short, but my prayer is that it is meaningful.

My friend, I am here to remind you today, no matter what you may be facing or what obstacles you may be trying to hurdle, that the same God who created this sunset is the same God who will walk you through your situation.

Here is a verse to cling to if you are in need of His promise to love us unconditionally,

“The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.” Psalm 33:5 NIV

‭‭I do not know what your circumstances are, but I know one thing that is true, God’s Love is always and forever, with no strings attached.

He loves us even when we forget how to love our selves.

Lean on Him today, My Friend! He will give you the strength you need.

Hugs to each and one of you! 💜

What Do You Say…

boardwalk amidst trees in forestWhat do you say when your words are few?

What do you say when your words are inadequate?

What do you say when your words are lost?

What do you say…

My friend, you don’t. You pray!

If you find yourself in a position where no matter how confused your words may be, or no matter how scattered they may be thrown, know this is the time you do not need to speak.

Just stop… just pray.

It is okay to have a period of silence for in that silence, you can hear God more clearly.

Life does not always need the words to be spoken, they just need to be felt.

Stop, be quiet, listen, and take this time to pray.

Let God do the rest.

Finding The Way Through The Darkness

Encouragement Today

close up of leaf

Today’s encouragement is coming to remind you if you are living through a difficult time and find the fear of darkness is all around you, please know you are not alone. I am here for you, to hug you, and to share with you just a little bit of our dark story right now.

I am writing with raw emotions this morning because at this time we find ourselves in a dark hole again. If our life is not chaotic enough I tried to have a conversation with someone who is important to me only to walk away absolutely crushed.

I wish my life was not so messy. I wish I had a life that was not wrought with so many medical issues. For anyone who walks in these shoes knows going to doctor appointments is time-consuming and mentally exhausting.

I was hoping after my husband’s doctor appointment that I would walk away with some relief, but instead I walked away feeling even more concerned, but instead, we find ourselves waiting until the end of the month for answers.

I am thankful we will not lose our job as I texted his boss yesterday and she asked me to not send him back to work too early so he doesn’t go out permanently. This was a huge relief since we are going without a paycheck right now. I know his position at work is valuable and the others are taking his load upon their load while he is out.

Unfortunately, my husband has a doctor appointment the same day as our dog, Shadow. Shadow is having his surgery to remove a mass on his paw that may be cancerous. We will not know if this is the case with him until they send off his mass to have it tested. For anyone who has a pet that is like a family member, you understand why this is important to us. Shadow is a purebred German Shepherd and is only three years old. He has a lot of love and life to give, so to leave a potential cancer on him is “not” an option.

Now a double day of prayers for my family on August 23rd. My husband will have his colonoscopy to determine if his surgery site in his colon has shrunk because if it has, he will need a complete, invasive, open you up surgery. This is to open up his previous surgery site and put it back together after removing the restriction sight. And Shadow will be having his surgery around the same time as his colonoscopy.

If this was not a potential cancer, I would reschedule Shadow, but I do not dare to. We do not get Tom’s results until August 29 and if he needs surgery then that will most likely take place quickly so we can get Tom back on his feet again. If I just go through with Shadow now, he can be healing or healed by the time Tom could go down.

Why? Why? Why does all of this happen to us? I just do not understand? I have been asking God to show me what I am not learning so I can finally get this figured out and move forward to a better place.

If you find you are in a similar place, please know you are not alone. It is a very dark place to be, but we will get through. We did the last time we were here and we will again, just like you will as well.

Cling to the hope of a brighter tomorrow. We all will get there. I write about these raw emotions today to not only try to process them but to show others who may be battling similar issues that you are not alone. I know for me, the feeling of being alone makes situations like these even harder and even darker.

So, my friend who is struggling today, I am sharing a hug and an ear and a shoulder to cry on. If you do not want to remain isolated in this darkness, feel free to open up in the comments below. I am here for you.

Hope Sees Through Darkness

Encouragement Today

design-61

Today’s Encouragement is coming through the form of “hope“.

Is your life so busy you no longer are able to enjoy it? Is there struggle and strife in a relationship with your spouse, children, or extended family members? Are financial struggles beating you up to the point where you want to quit and just give up? Is there an overall feeling of darkness all around and you are no longer able to see the hope for a brighter future?

My special friend, through your darkness I can promise you a hope, that in this world may seem unattainable, but I can say with the utmost assurance, it exists. It exists through God Himself. You need to lean on Him and allow His strength to permeate through the darkness that surrounds you.

My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.” Psalm 119:50 NIV

God is with you to celebrate your greatest joys as well as holding you through your greatest weaknesses. He promises a hope that no one else can offer when all seems hopeless.

“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” PS 55:22 NIV

Your challenge today is to not focus on the struggles and the strife you are battling within, but to look outside (which is not easy to do) and find a peace from around you. Look for the simple blessings and hold them dear to your heart.

Try looking for a blessing that is waiting to be seen and felt.

There are many way to experience this, you only have to be willing to open your heart to see and feel them.

Try going outside and feel the gentle fresh spring breeze blowing across your face and feel the sun shining in your eyes.

As you drive down the road try looking out across an open field and look for the blossoming trees and see the fresh new color of yellows and purples blanketing the fields.

These are blessings that can hold a sense of freshness and shout the joys of a new beginning.

How about this one, try opening your heart to hear the laughter of a child playing or taking the time to see a gentle smile on the face of a loved one. There is something healing about the sounds of joy or the simplicity of a gentle smile.

While you are trapped in a world of darkness, these simple blessings fade away from life, but I am here to remind you today, they are still out there.

Today’s challenge is to open your heart and experience them again.

Feel free to leave a comment below if you have been encouraged by a blessing today that has renewed your hope for a brighter future.

I find when I can share these special moments they take on even greater meaning in my life. I would love to share in your encouraging moment as well.

Lastly, remember, just as God created the seasons of the year, we experience similar seasons within our lives. Sometimes as we struggle to get through the season with winter, we forget this doesn’t last forever. Just as God created the season of spring to bring everything back to life, He does the same within our own lives. Allow for the fresh renewal to take bloom and rejoice in the freshness of the beauty as it comes back again.
