Courage Is A Prevention To Fear

My Friends,

No matter how your week has gone, today’s encouragement is to remind you surround yourself with this inspirational quote;

Courage is one step ahead of fear.

Coleman young

Courage serves as a preventative measure from becoming paralyzed by the fear of your circumstances. Do not allow these difficult circumstances to mold you into a person consumed by fear and anxiety.

Today, I challenge you to take a step back and lean on the words and promises God gave us,

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” Ps 27:14 (ESV)

God has control over everything in your life. Look to Him for the strength and courage you need to sustain you throughout today and into the weekend.

“Wait on Him, My Friend!”

Happy Friday, Everyone!

Today Is A New Day

Encouragement Today

Good Morning Friends!

Today is a new day.

No matter what happened yesterday, today is not yesterday, “today” is a new day.

Embrace the newness and walk into it with your head held high knowing today can be what you make it.

What failed yesterday does not have to fail today.

Change the pattern and make it yours.

Happy New Day!

Do Not Focus On The Steps Behind You

Life Changes, The New Journey Ahead

This week has been an emotional week as we said a temporary good bye of 2 (possibly 3) years to our sweet friend, who is like family to us.

I decided to use her time away to set some long overdue goals for myself to not necessarily rediscover myself and the person I left behind years ago, but to discover who I am today.

I have spent the past six months trying to figure out what would change look like to me and to figure out who I use to be, but instead of going back, I have discovered that isn’t the journey. The journey instead, is what is ahead of me.

I have come to realize my journey ahead is not about redeeming what I lost, but is more about using my past to mold me into who God wants me to be today.

So, it was with great sadness that I said good bye while I watched our sweet friend board that plane the other night, but it is with great hope that I look forward to who I will be when she returns to American soil and home again.

Our Broken Spirits Are Healed

Today’s reminder is a simple one!

Are you feeling alone? Are you feeling overwhelmed?

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalms‬ ‭34:18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

This reminder is to encourage you to know, despite how you may feel, God is with you. He is saving you from all you are feeling.

Turn your eyes towards Him and allow Him to heal your heart.

Lastly, no matter how you may be feeling, you are never alone!

Lessons Learned From Seasons and Ripples

Today’s encouragement is coming via the lenses of someone who is worn out, beat down, frustrated, and exhausted.

I know there are many of you who are living a season in life where this is you as well.

My encouraging words to you are these,

“You are doing an amazing job!”

Do not let society dictate how you feel about yourself.

Do not let them determine your worth, whether you are struggling at every crisis or you are feeling like a “rock star” at this thing called life.

We all go through seasons where we are on top of the world and everything is running smoothly and the problems are minimal, to where no matter which direction you turn, there is another crisis just waiting for you to resolve.

My friend, today I am here to encourage you to keep your chin up and make some time to “rest” today.

If you are in a season of struggles, conflicts, or busyness; take some time to rest your mind and body so you are better able to handle what comes your way next.

By doing this you will be amazed by the strength you will be renewed with.

Lastly, remember if this is a difficult season, it will not last forever.

The seasons in life are like the ripples in the water. They are all uniquely original and will never be the same once they passed.” -HD Benson

No matter how difficult life may be, rest in the assurance, this season will pass. Take the experiences you have learned from and leave behind that which you can not change.

My friend, you will get through! Today will be a better day, no matter how difficult your life may be.

Unclear Roads

To those who are working hard to achieve a goal, but your road seems unclear in how to get there, know despite how unclear it is, when you get there, the reward will be sweet and amazing.

God will bless you for all the twists and turns it took to get there because no matter how hard it was, you didn’t give up.

Your destination will be worth the hard work it took to get there.

Making Life Changes

One Step At A Time

All too often we find ourselves in the midst of difficult situations. It may even feel like life is falling apart at every seam.

How many of you find it easier to fall into unhealthy behavior patterns where you make excuses and play the blame game rather than take ownership for your part of the problem?

Today’s reminder is a simple one.

“Instead of making excuses, create solutions.” HD Benson

My friend, every time you find yourself making an excuse for a situation, you are robbing yourself of the power to make the changes to better your situation.

If you have found yourself drowning in a sea of problems, all of which have excuses that make them out of your power or control to change, I want you to consider these following thoughts…

  • Does your negative situation really affect your life or can you walk away from it and forget about it?
  • Are you able to change your situation to make it more bearable?
  • Can you do “anything” besides complaining and making excuses for it to help your situation?
  • Lastly, think about all of your problems and how can you think of something positive to create a solution thus changing this from a problem to a blessing?

Today’s challenge is to evaluate your difficulties which you have been making excuses for and create a solution to at least one of them to change it from a negative to a positive situation. I have a suggestion to help you with this.

When you find yourself overwhelmed by the burdens of the world, start by making one change at a time. The key to change is not about sprinting a marathon, but to pace yourself for the long run. As long as you keep moving forward, you are getting closer to the goal.

This is what you are going to do today. One creative solution at a time will keep you moving forward to changing your heart from seeing and feeling everything around you as a negative situation and you will begin to see more positive and encouraging ones instead.

My Friend, instead of making excuses I would like you to consider changing your mindset to create a solution. Today, you are going to empower yourself with the ability to become creative and create a solution to replace a negative situation with a positive one.

Do Not Harbor Your Fear

Simple Thoughts

Are struggling today with fear or discouragement?

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah” Psalms‬ ‭46:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

My Friend, God is there to give you the strength you need in your time of weakness. Do not let your circumstances consume you.

Take each and everyone to the person who can take them away, the one who is the master in lifting our burdens and making a way to get through the day to day.

God loves you and is waiting to hear from you.

Dust Yourself Off and See Your Beauty

How quickly the days get ahead of us. How quickly we fall back into unhealthy routines?

How quickly we forget we were trying to change something in our life, but the “old” crept back in and life fell back into the “normal”, but wait, we were changing that “normal”.

This is what happens to me. Life is good when I stay on top of the new, but let life get busy and doctor appointments take back over our days and weeks and I quickly fall back into the old life, the life I am trying to change. The life that is comfortable because it is what I know, but the life that is unhealthy for me to continue to live.

I am trying so hard to live a life that is intentional and one that includes “me”, but I continually find it is hard to live.

I have spent my entire life thinking of others and how what I do affects them, that I left me behind. I struggle with believing what is right for me is important. I grew up believing that putting myself ahead of others was selfish.

Now all these years later, I have learned there has to be a balance to the philosophy of putting others first and it not be selfish to think of myself too, but what does this balance look like now in my life?

How do I know what is selfish and what is healthy?

Is this something you battle too?

My friend, I am here to tell you I do not have the answer for either one of us, but I can tell you the journey I am trying to seek and keep failing at miserably is this…

I am trying to seek a journey to live my brave.
I am trying to live a journey where fear does not run my life and my efforts.
I am trying to figure “me” into the equation of what I am doing every day and where do I fit into it.
I am trying to make decisions that not only make others happy, but makes me happy as well.
I am trying to consider my health and well being into decisions I am making.
I am trying to live an “honest” life for me.
I am trying to remember I too am important in the decisions I make.

Does any of this sound like you? If it does, know you are not alone and know that no matter how many times we may fall, that our destination in the end will be beautiful and worth fighting for.

As I continue this journey the word God brings to me is perseverance. I included the definition of it because it is powerful to what God trying to remind me of.

per·se·ver·ance

noun / persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. – New Oxford Dictionary

God also reminds us through His own words that perseverance is an important trait because no matter how many times we may fall, the fact we get back up and try and try again, will enable us to reach our goal. His objective for us to allow us to mature and to finish our journey and in the end lack for nothing.

“Let perseverance finish its work so that you may mature and complete, not lacking anything.” – James 1:4 NIV

How ironic as I write this, that as parents do we not want the same for our own children and families? We watch them struggle in areas we can not do anything about, but we watch and pray that they stand back up, dust themselves off and try again.

My friend, God wants the same for us. He is watching us set our goals for our own personal lives. He watches us do really well for a while and over time we slip back into our old ways, but He doesn’t give up on us. He watches us and prays over us and allows us to fall, but encourages us to stand back up, dust ourselves off, and try again.

So today my friend, is the day that I stand back up, dust myself off and try again. Have you fallen and need to stand back up and dust yourself off too?

Well, today is the day that we stand together and hand in hand we take our steps together to march forward toward our destinations.

We do not have to do it alone. Together we can stand firm and hold each other up while encouraging each other that we are worth all the efforts we put forth and even the falls we may make. We can even pledge to hold our hands out and pick each other back up.

My Friend, we are worth the effort.

God Is Calling You Back

Encouragement Today

Today’s message is another simple one. Have you strayed from God?

Did you once believe, but decided to stray away to live your own life?

My friend, it is never to late to return back to the arms of your creator.

God is calling you back.

“”Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Joel 2:12 NIV

If this message is for you today, will you listen? Will you take the time now, no matter what state of mind you are in to return back to Him?

God’s message is clear! Simply follow, simply listen!
