Do Not Grow Weary

I do not know what your week holds for you. I do not know what blessings you will receive or what struggles you will battle, but one thing remains week after week, day after day.

This constant is God.

Today’s reminder is to encourage you with these great words from Galatians,

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 (ESV).

Do not give up my friend!! You’ve got whatever comes your way.

The Innocence of The Smallest of Us

Mother Nature ceases to amaze me.

Just when we think we have problems this gentle reminder is here to remind us we don’t.

“Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:26‬ ‭ESV‬‬

If God can take care of the smallest of these, He will surely take care of us.

Our Broken Spirits Are Healed

Today’s reminder is a simple one!

Are you feeling alone? Are you feeling overwhelmed?

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalms‬ ‭34:18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

This reminder is to encourage you to know, despite how you may feel, God is with you. He is saving you from all you are feeling.

Turn your eyes towards Him and allow Him to heal your heart.

Lastly, no matter how you may be feeling, you are never alone!

Are Trials and Troubles at Every Turn?

Is life a struggle at every turn?

Are you weary from constantly making important decisions?

Are you exhausted from always putting out a fire?

My friend, rest on the promises God provides us,

“Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”Isaiah 40:30-31 ESV”.

God does not expect us to always solve our problems or even carry them.

He wants us to turn to Him when we are weak and weary.

You’ve got this Friend! Rest today and give your problems to God. Allow Him to create your solutions.

Have a great day!

Do Not Harbor Your Fear

6A5CA31B-E5CF-4796-8751-9780DCEEEF7B

Simple Thoughts

Are struggling today with fear or discouragement?

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah” Psalms‬ ‭46:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

My Friend, God is there to give you the strength you need in your time of weakness. Do not let your circumstances consume you.

Take each and everyone to the person who can take them away, the one who is the master in lifting our burdens and making a way to get through the day to day.

God loves you and is waiting to hear from you.

No Matter The Pain, You Are Beautifully Made

Journaling Journey

Do you continue to worry over your kids? As parents, I am unsure how you do not. It seems to be bred into us as soon as they are born.

Today has been one of those days where I struggled with worrying over my Kiddo. It does not matter how old they become, when they are sick we worry over them. When they are hurt, we worry over them. When they are fearful, we worry over them. It does not matter what the circumstances are, their lives will always be intertwined in ours.

My daughter woke up with her head hurting badly. She had a migraine brewing, but what her migraine didn’t know was that she didn’t have the time for it today.

She is desperately trying to cram the final week and half of work from her classes in it in order to complete the semester in college.

I was worried for her because I could tell in her face and in her eyes how bad this one was. I prayed over her head as well as sought prayer from some faithful prayer warriors that this bad migraine did not turn into a mega migraine while she was at work.

I am so happy to announce the prayers worked. She still has her migraine, but it did not get any worse and for this, we are thankful.

Now as I write, we are patiently waiting for her weekly IgG infusion to finish. Every Friday night she has to do this two hour regiment. We should be getting use to it, but I have a confession to make. It isn’t any easier. By the time she gets home from work, pre-medicates and finishes from start to finish it takes two hours which if you do not get it started until later then you are pushing 11 pm to 1am before it is finished. We know this from several weeks of experience.

This my friend, this is rough for this tired mom, but I refuse to go to bed while she infuses as it is not in me to abandon her on this weekly treatment. So no matter how late it becomes, Shadow and I will stay up with her because we are in this journey with her.

Tonight she decided was good night for me to learn how to actually set up the entire process minus inserting the four needles into her legs, just in case something went wrong or she was sick and I would need to know how to do this for her. I agreed it was a good idea, but I just really did not want to learn how tonight, I know, pretty selfish of me, but I did give in to learn how anyway.

Now the worrying side of being a mom is praying her side effects will be minimum so she can get a ton of studying done tomorrow. We really need for her body to cooperate and not crash on her yet.

Do any of your struggle with a similar battle where you worry over your kids and just want what is best for them, but can not do anything beyond pray over them? Even though this is the best thing we can do for our kids, somehow, if we are honest with ourselves, it does not seem like it is enough.

I wish my daughter could live a “normal” healthy life like those of her peers, but God has a different purpose for her. We are unsure what that looks like, but with all the physical struggling she does, the grace in which she does it is a testament to the strength she has to endure all she endures.

My friend, if you or a loved one is in a similar situation, please leave a comment below and I will be praying for you to get through as gracefully as my daughter does. You have an understanding friend here so you know you are no longer alone during this journey.

I hope everyone has a good night and that you get the rest your mind and body needs. If you feel inclined to join me in praying for my daughter, this would be wonderful and appreciated.

Lastly, if you are struggling to see your beauty for all the pain and sickness you experience,

“I want to remind you God fearfully and wonderfully made you.” Ps 139:14 (NIV).

Please remember, In His eyes you are perfect despite how badly you may feel.

Rest and Recover

We Survived The Week

Today is the day where we should be able to rest from the craziness of the week.

I know for many of us, however, today is the day in which we try to catch upon our house chores, the dishes, the laundry, the grocery shopping, and the kids youth activities, but I want to remind you of the importance to make some time to rest in order to refresh your mind, body, and soul.

God reminds us how important this is or He wouldn’t have it in the Bible.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew‬ ‭11:28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Consider this, My Friend. You will not regret it. Give your body and your mind this much needed down time.

Inspiring Your Heart to Shine Brightly

untitled design-2

Are you struggling with believing you are beautiful?

Are you struggling with believing the lies society tells you, the lies where no one truly measures up to anyone unless you are a certain size with a specific hair color, length or style? Are you struggling with the lies you are not beautiful because you do not measure up to the Jones’?

Today’s encouragement is to inspire you to believe you are beautiful because the beauty you hold is humbly hidden in your heart.

The Bible tells us in Matthew 5:3-12 what true beauty is and where it can be found. God placed in our hearts not to hide it, but to shield it from the corruption of this world.

  • He allows it to be seen when it shines through our eyes as we smile at others, whether we know them or whether they are total strangers.

Have you ever walked through a crowded place, feeling beat down by your circumstances and with the weight of the world resting upon your shoulders, but you look up and a total stranger gives you an unexpected beautiful smile? There is something majestic that happens at just that moment in time. It is a moment where God allowed the true beauty of that person to shine through.

untitled design-3

  • Beauty comes through the words with which we speak when we speak love, comfort, mercy, and encouragement to those who are down and discouraged.

Have you been so discouraged that you could not bear one more discouraging word to be spoken or have one more moment of frustration to occur, but you received a random text, note on your desk, or a total stranger say a kind word to you in the grocery store check-out line? My friend, those kind words are the beauty the person rendering them is holding in their heart.

  • Beauty comes through the form of physical touch.

It comes through the arms of someone giving a hug when they need a compassionate touch or if they need some extra love at just that moment.

  • Beauty comes through the form of compassion, strength and mercy.

People who find themselves grieving or are in an unimaginable pain will see the beauty in your heart, through the compassion you have in your eyes and the soft gentle words you will speak.

They will feel the strength and mercy from your arms as you gracefully touch them or hold them.

They will also feel the beauty in your heart through the gentle touch of your hands as you help them in areas of need. Whether it is by doing their dishes, folding their laundry, or mowing their yard. The activity you do with your hands allows your beauty to shine through in a meaningful and concrete way.

My friend, the beauty God gave you is one which radiates through the darkness while bringing joy to those who are in their deepest of needs.

God’s beauty is not one that can be purchased at a hair or nail salon. It isn’t one that can be purchased at a clothing or shoe store. It is one that comes through our personality with which God instilled in our hearts.

My friend, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Remember today, you are Beautiful!!!

This is intended for the handsome gentlemen here as well. Just replace beauty with handsome and it all applies to you as well.

Celebrate and Reflect

Easter Greetings

Today is a day of celebration and reflection as we take the time to share this sweet Easter Day together.

Whether you are alone or you are with family or friends, take some time today to not only celebrate the bunny and the eggs, but celebrate and reflect back on the reason for the season.

My friend, Christ came to walk the Earth just like you and I. He had people who liked Him and loved Him as well as people who did not, but He stood steadfast on the truth He preached leading up to this time of His death and His resurrection.

Despite Christ, who called out,

“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?” Psalm 22:1 NIV

The gentle reminder here is His Father never left Him, no matter how much pain He was in or how lonely He felt at the dark moment.

My Friend, God knew everything going on during that horrible day. None of this was a surprise to Him, because there was a mighty plan and a purpose for His Son to suffer that unbearable pain and death.

God had to watch His Son die an excruciating death in order to save each and everyone of us from our own mortality.

Jesus died so that we would live,

“For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.” 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭4:14‬ NIV

My friend, just as Christ felt alone that one dark Friday, two-thousand of years ago, there was a joy in the celebration of His resurrection three days later.

No matter where you are in your journey, what pain you may be feeling, or how dark your life may feel, remember this truth today;

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Just as God allowed His Son to suffer on that cross, He welcomed Him in His arms immediately following His death.

My friend, God has a plan for you as well. As a result of His Son, Jesus’ death, we now have life. This life is not dependent on how easy or difficult your life may be, but it is a promise God has offered to us, if we choose to accept this gift.

I have a challenge for you if you find yourself in a difficult situation. Take some time today to reflect back on where you have been, where you are, and where you are going in your life. Take some time to reflect back on how God has been with you and has not forsaken you, just as He did not forsake His only Son as He hung on a cross.

My friend, you may be saying, but He hasn’t been here with me. He has abandoned me because I wouldn’t be where I am today if He had not.

I am here to gently remind you just as Christ, for a moment, thought the same thing; we know from scriptures that God did not abandoned His Son, just as He has not abandoned you.

No matter how difficult today may be for you, take the time to celebrate our Risen Savior, for through His death, we will live.

Happy Easter!
