Faith is Believing What You Can’t See

November 19, 2017

When life gets hard, how many times have you been told, ” Have faith, you will get through ________ fill in the blank.”

When you are facing the loss of a job, a medical crisis, a loved one going to war, your child being sick, a divorce, dying parents, the death of a child, or anything which causes a significant form of immediate stress in your life, faith is the emotion you experience when facing a challenging situation where life meets fear, lack of direction, or uncertainty.

Does faith look the same for everyone? Is there a simple measurement to which we all experience faith with? The answer is no. Everyone experiences it at various levels which are dependent on their personal life experiences.

There are some people who are fortunate enough to get through life where it just flows easily with few difficulties and distractions while there are others who are met with crisis after crisis.

My advice to you right now is to cling to God and allow Him to bless you with a peace you can not explain but can feel. Cling to God and receive His strength to conquer the challenge you are facing. Cling to God and graciously accept the hope He gives to know this situation will not last forever. Lastly, cling to God and allow Him to give you the faith you need to get through your current difficulty.

My friend, all of these difficult circumstances share a similar common denominator, which is Faith. Faith keeps you going forward step by step even when life has you feeling paralyzed with fear, questions, concerns, or exhaustion. Faith, no matter how big your situation is, sustains you allowing you to breathe in and out.

In conclusion sweet friend, I don’t know what you may be going through right now, but know your faith is sustaining you at this very moment. Do not let the power of peoples criticizing words convince you that you are not believing enough to get through. You are doing an amazing job enduring this hardship. Keep believing, keep looking to God for your direction, and keep your faith this situation will work itself out by holding these words from God close to your heart,

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

James 1:6 NIV

You have this friend! You will get through this hard time. Many hugs!
