Courage Is A Prevention To Fear

My Friends,

No matter how your week has gone, today’s encouragement is to remind you surround yourself with this inspirational quote;

Courage is one step ahead of fear.

Coleman young

Courage serves as a preventative measure from becoming paralyzed by the fear of your circumstances. Do not allow these difficult circumstances to mold you into a person consumed by fear and anxiety.

Today, I challenge you to take a step back and lean on the words and promises God gave us,

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” Ps 27:14 (ESV)

God has control over everything in your life. Look to Him for the strength and courage you need to sustain you throughout today and into the weekend.

“Wait on Him, My Friend!”

Happy Friday, Everyone!

Open Our Eyes To Blessings

01aa85fdc037a9b0199c1f3915f0ac84267018eba2There are many days in life where we find it is overwhelming due to the busyness that surrounds us while living with the realization there is never enough time to get everything done that is required of us. Do you ever feel this way?

You know those days where you struggle to open your eyes first thing in the morning because you were up all night with a sick child or a newborn baby. You were up all night finishing that project for school, college, or work because it had a deadline first thing in the morning. Lastly, you were up all night working a night shift and you are completely exhausted and can barely hold your eyes open now it is the morning.

My friend, I am here to encourage you today to open your eyes while taking some time to appreciate, both physically and literally, the life that passes you by every day. I want you to actively seek the things that bring joy to your heart, but you have no time to look for it or to see it for all the chaos you struggle with from day to day.

There are many days where we function by just going through the motions and barely surviving, but today is not going to be this day. Today you are going to concentrate on looking for the things which brings you joy. Whether it is a sight, sound, or feeling, it does not matter. What matters is that you are actively looking for it while you go about your day.

Today’s challenge is to begin by asking God to help you seek the joys of your heart. The joys you forgot you had due to being so busy that your life has passed you by. I want you to physically ask Him to show you the things that inspire and encourage you.

God will honor your request by opening your eyes to what you need, but you must simply ask.

“But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.” John 11:22 NIV

0150f5c0f962a6c14b2754a9d36dd01d416b049ed3God tells us if we need something to simply ask Him for our every need, just as you would do to your Earthly parents. I know all too many times we forget how simple this is to do or how important it is to do, but He promises to listen. Today, you will break this mold and will ask for the desires of your heart. The desire to find the joy you hold but have been too busy to experience.

“Ask the Lord your God for a sign, whether in the deepest depths or in the highest heights.” Isaiah 7:11 NIV

I am an advocate of asking God for a physical sign, because I always joke about how He made me and knows I function better if I have something concrete to hold on to. Well, here, my friend, He tells us we can ask for something physical to hold on to. Ask Him today to show you physically the joys of your heart. Ask Him specifically for the flower you love, or that01086a8ba4978cfe9a25fbf09d9e5f955e97f83fb4 specific sound or song, or person. I do not know what the desires of your heart are, but I know that God knows each and everyone of them just as He knows how many hairs are on your head.

“And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Matthew 10:30 NIV

If God knows how many hairs are on our heads then He knows what brings us joy, even if we, ourselves have forgotten.

My friend, today I am reminding you to simply ask God to open your eyes and your heart to be blessed with what brings joy to your life.

Allow yourself to be blessed by God today.

Purposely Seeking Joy and Renewal

Seeking My Joy Today

My joy today has been seeing the beauty of the new spring growth popping up every where. Every day there are more leaves on the trees, more blossoms on the bushes and beautiful flowers showing up in the flower beds.

This new growth reminds me that no matter how dead life may look, there is always a season that flourishes and grows again. Trees that once looked dead are beautifully green again. Bushes that had no life are blossomed out in the most brilliant colors imaginable. Flower beds that were lifeless are growing again.

I love this season because it has a visible way of reminding us that no matter how dead our life may seem, it does not mean it will be like this forever.

Only can God bring back to life what has gone dormant and what appears to be dead. Like wise, He does the same for us.

Have you found yourself struggling in a personal season where everything around you seems dead? Relationships are hard at best. Hardships seem to be piling up all around you. You cry out to God, but you hear nothing in return?

My friend, this is your season of winter, but I am here to remind you today that this season, all be it hard right now, will not last forever. The season of spring is right around the corner.

I know some of you may be saying, but you don’t understand. It has been like this for so long. My friend, I’m here to encourage you, that I do understand and I’m here to encourage you that just as the snow falls in the winter, it melts and goes away. Just as the trees look lifeless and dead, they will sprout new leaves and be beautiful again. So will this happen in your life.

The season of spring and the beauty it produces is here to remind us that this dead season of winter will not last forever and the there is joy in the renewal and growth. Just as the flowers will bloom again, so will the beautiful things in your life.

It is my prayer for you today that you will have the hope to see that your difficult season in life will begin fade away and will begin to flourish and grow again soon.

My Friend, be encouraged by this reminder God shares with us;

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

Be encouraged today friends and know my joy can be yours as well.

Open your eyes and open your heart to see the freshness that spring brings forth.

Living Intentional

Seeking Joy In Our Lives

During this time of constant busyness and chaos, we find it easy to focus on all the difficulties and hardships life brings us, but today, I want us to “intentionally focus” on finding something joyful in our day.

For some, this may be found in the smallest of places, while others may find this to be easy. It does not matter how easy or hard you may need to look, my question is this, will you join me in pledging to live intentional while seeking something joyful in your day?

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds…” James 1:2 (NIV)

It is my desire to start a trend where we daily seek to find some joy in our lives, even if we are living in amid our darkest of times.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12 (NIV)

We can all agree that life is hard most of the time and unfortunately, we can easily focus on those hardships, but God shows us in both James and Romans that we have a reason to be joyful, even while living in the midst of some of our hardest of times.

There is a key to finding joy when we are having difficulties because of the darkness we may be living in.

The key is to retrain ourselves to “live intentional” while looking for the joyous moments in our lives.

By doing this, we will be able find the power to disregard the negativity while seeking to live a more positive and intentional life.

My friend, I know how hard life can get and how dark it can appear at times, but I want you to know, you are important and you deserve to be happy no matter how hard life has you knocked down.

Take some time today to intentionally and purposely look for something which makes you happy. When you find it, cling to it, be thankful for it, and do not allow anyone to take it from you.

My Friend, make the time to find your joy today!

Feel free to leave, My Joy Today was… below in the comments section.

I would love to share in your joyful moments. We often rally around those who are in the midst of hard times but often forget to share in the joyous moments too. Today, I want to share in your joyful moment and be thankful along beside you if you will have me.

Christmas, Comfort, Hope, Inspiration, Journey, Joy, Life, Peace, Sounds of the Season

“Where’s The Line to see Jesus?”

Sounds of the Season brought to you by,
Becky Kelley – Where’s the Line to See Jesus

Your Sounds of the Season selection today is a personal favorite, Where’s the Line to See Jesus by Becky Kelley.

This is one of my favorite Sounds of the Season songs. I can not remember how many years ago I first heard it, but for some reason, it does not make it to the radio stations, as a result, I do not randomly hear it. It is one I actively search for from year to year.

So many times we get lost in the hustle and bustle of the season and we forget to celebrate the “real” meaning of this holiday season.

This song is a gentle and wonderful reminder of what this holiday is truly about, but done in a subtle way as Christmas songs go.

I hope it serves as a gentle reminder of why we are celebrating this Christmas season. The lights, the shopping, the music, the movies, the productions are all valiant reminders of Christmas but do not forget, if it was not for the birth of Christ, we would have no reason to celebrate.

Fresh New Beginnings Start Today

Christmas Note of Encouragement

Today’s encouragement is a simple one, but one I think we forget when life becomes busy.

“Seize Today

For each new day is a fresh new start.”

@homelife&encouragement.com

It is so easy to fall into the trap of…

  • getting up every day
  • going to work every day
  • going home every day
  • running errands every day
  • going to school every day

Then you go home you tackle the daily life chores. It is time to wash the laundry, wash the dishes, make the meals, do the homework, prepare for the next day, and go to bed. Then the cycle begins all over again the next day.

My friend, I am here to remind you today to seize the day and look for ways to break the vicious cycle of life and make it fun and enjoyable again.

Today’s challenge is to take a step back and evaluate your life. Determine where you can add some freshness to your life, especially during this Holiday Season.

If you took some time to try this, you might be amazed at how much happier you could feel. In my humble opinion, any time you find the time to seek happiness and simplicity in your life, that makes for one of the best Christmas presents ever.

It is my prayer if you do this today, you will find some holiday cheer that will make the week to come a little more pleasurable for you.

Merry Christmas, My Friend!

Be Brave and Journey On

Encouragement Today

Your daily encouragement today was inspired by this simple quote,

“Be Brave and Journey On”.

Is your day always the same, day in and day out, or is it consistently full of chaos?

Are you a busy mom running after little ones all day long, and you find yourself frazzled and worn out physically and mentally?

Are you a busy working mom or dad who works all day long then runs all night between your kids after school activities?

Are you a busy homeschool parent who is always preparing, teaching, grading, or running your kids between Co-ops, youth activities, and volunteering.

Are you a busy young person trying to work, go to college, and find time to study when there are a spare few minutes?

Are you busy trying to take care of a sick child, a sick spouse, a sick parent, or a sick friend?

Anyone who does this knows how exhausting and often times difficult this task is. Are you a busy person whose job is demanding from the time you get up to the time you basically go to bed?

My friend, no matter what your day looks like, it is your life and God will give you the strength to get through it gracefully.

Be Brave and Journey On!

Finding Joy In Your Story

Encouragement Today

img_3243As I begin to write, I am uncertain what it will look like today.

My thoughts are so scattered and are all over the place. How do I tame them enough to round-up the words I need to encourage someone today?

Let me try by taking a small step in this direction. I am a founding member of this amazing book launch for “The Brave Art of Motherhood” by Rachel Marie Martin.

For 10 years she has encouraged and inspired mothers through the brightest and darkest days of motherhood. She has inspired me for years through her blog, Finding Joy, and I am not only encouraged by her, but I am blessed to be a part of her launch team.

As I read through her book, I have found myself inspired to think beyond my comfort zone as well as sparking a series of emotions both joyous and fearful. However, overall it is giving me the courage to make some changes I have been wanting to make in my life, but did not know how or when to make them.

img_3242-2I found today’s encouragement from a quote by Rachel Marie Martin, that has given me the courage to keep moving forward while trying to find some joy in where I am during the difficult month I have had.

“Sometimes you have to let go of the picture of what you thought life would be like and learn to find joy in the story you are actually living.” Rachel Marie Martin

It is my hope and prayer today that if you find yourself in a difficult time or situation, that you are able to, “…let go of the picture” you had in your mind of what you thought life would be like and instead, “…learn to find joy in the story you are actually living.”

There is no better time than the present to do this.

Start today my friend. “Find the joy in your story” and know God will use everything you are going through to encourage others as you go through day by day.

Promoting Change

This is a super amazing book that I am working closely with the author to promote. I have been one of the chosen lucky people to have a pre-released copy so we can help Rachel in the selling of her book.

I am not sure how many follow her via her blog, Facebook or Instagram, but she is known as Finding Joy. I repost a lot of her stuff and because I have closely followed her for several years I was blessed to be one of her insiders to help her.

Yes, call it a secret life I have, but you will see more and more stuff come via this page and my personal page, this is how good this book will be.

If you are looking for a change in your life, this will be huge for you. If you feel like you live a life no one knows, you will quickly realize you are not alone.

I read a lot of self help and encouraging things so I can better myself and encourage others along the way and I am telling you this will be a must have book to add to your library if you are looking to be inspired, encouraged, and motivated.

I promise, it will not get dusty. I can also promise this book is so good, you will reread it over and over and be prepared to write in it, high light it, write notes all through it.

It is that kind of a book. I do not know anyone in my group who has not done just this, including myself.

Set your calendars for this important launch…. Oct 9, 2018!!

There will be a lot of announcements leading up to it starting in September. As I am able to release information, you will be seeing here.
