The Path Less Traveled

You’ve got this Friend!

“Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go; just remember how far you have come. Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome.” -Unknown

You’ve got anything life can throw your way.

God has empowered you with the strength, determination, and endurance to battle what lays ahead.

Remember, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalms 46:1 ESV.

Take one step at a time and lean on God for your strength as well as your refuge.

One day you will look back on today and give God the praise for helping you get through it.

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12 ESV.

Hang in there and know, whatever you may be going through, it will not last forever.

You’ve got this Friend, you’ve got this! 💜

Do Not Focus On The Steps Behind You

Life Changes, The New Journey Ahead

This week has been an emotional week as we said a temporary good bye of 2 (possibly 3) years to our sweet friend, who is like family to us.

I decided to use her time away to set some long overdue goals for myself to not necessarily rediscover myself and the person I left behind years ago, but to discover who I am today.

I have spent the past six months trying to figure out what would change look like to me and to figure out who I use to be, but instead of going back, I have discovered that isn’t the journey. The journey instead, is what is ahead of me.

I have come to realize my journey ahead is not about redeeming what I lost, but is more about using my past to mold me into who God wants me to be today.

So, it was with great sadness that I said good bye while I watched our sweet friend board that plane the other night, but it is with great hope that I look forward to who I will be when she returns to American soil and home again.

Finding Your Brave

I am shamelessly promoting this book, The Brave Art of Motherhood, Fight Fear. Gain Confidence. Find Yourself Again, by Rachel Marie Martin

This book is truly an amazing book to read if you have become stuck in a life that does not look familiar any longer and if you want to break free from the chains that have held you down for so long.

Do you spend countless hours worrying about everything from finances, relationships, to worrying about your children? Then this book is for you. Rachel talks about the everyday struggles everyone encounters. She talks about the masks we wear to hide from our unpleasant realities and how we can have the strength to unmask and live our “real” life.

She talks about hiding behind the garage doors that are holding back the things we have collected over the years, but have been too afraid to get rid of. She empowers us to break free of the need to keep everything and take back the control this has robbed us from.

She talks honestly about living with financial hardships and how they can hold us in bondage that many may never have the courage to break free from. She openly shares with us how she gained the confidence to break this horrible cycle and how she gained the financial wisdom and strength to beat this ugly monster called debt.

My friend, these are just a few highlights of how her life was impacted by difficulties. What is so refreshing about this book is how she has the ability to write in a manner that speaks directly to her reader. You walk away from each chapter saying, “How did she know that was me?” But she doesn’t leave you there. She gives you the strength and courage to believe in yourself again and empowers you with the ability to break your own cycle of bondage.

Lastly, in complete honesty, I can not begin to promote this book with due diligence. Rachel has written this from her heart. She shares many more stories of what she has struggled with over the years and how when she found her “Brave”, put on her shoes and began her journey to seek freedom from the bondage that held her back in life. Her story is real and it resonates with many of her readers, such as myself, because we have all been in or are in similar circumstances she found herself in. She is open, real, honest, and shares her raw stories to help readers like us to have the courage to seek the same bravery and freedom she found.

Are you looking to do the same? Do you want to find your “Brave” and break free of the bondage that holds you captive?

Do you know someone who would benefit from this book as well? Purchase this book today and share it with others as well. For this unbelievable price, you can afford to buy multiples. It will not stay at this sale price, so consider purchasing it today. It will make for a beautiful Mother’s Day gift because it will forever change the life of the person reading it.

Get this amazing book today!! It is ON SALE for only $1.99 for Mother’s Day. You will not regret it.

In closing, do not be concerned when you read the title where it says Motherhood in it. This book is sure to touch the hearts of everyone who reads it. You do not have to be a mother of small children to enjoy its message. She writes in that account because that is what she is, a mother of small children, but her message will resonate with all her readers.

Disclaimer, I am not promoting this book to seek revenue from its sales. I do not receive one penny from it. I am promoting it because I truly believe in the message she is sharing and I know it will change the lives of those who read it. This is my pay off, knowing others will be equally blessed like I have been.

Inspiring Your Heart to Shine Brightly

untitled design-2

Are you struggling with believing you are beautiful?

Are you struggling with believing the lies society tells you, the lies where no one truly measures up to anyone unless you are a certain size with a specific hair color, length or style? Are you struggling with the lies you are not beautiful because you do not measure up to the Jones’?

Today’s encouragement is to inspire you to believe you are beautiful because the beauty you hold is humbly hidden in your heart.

The Bible tells us in Matthew 5:3-12 what true beauty is and where it can be found. God placed in our hearts not to hide it, but to shield it from the corruption of this world.

  • He allows it to be seen when it shines through our eyes as we smile at others, whether we know them or whether they are total strangers.

Have you ever walked through a crowded place, feeling beat down by your circumstances and with the weight of the world resting upon your shoulders, but you look up and a total stranger gives you an unexpected beautiful smile? There is something majestic that happens at just that moment in time. It is a moment where God allowed the true beauty of that person to shine through.

untitled design-3

  • Beauty comes through the words with which we speak when we speak love, comfort, mercy, and encouragement to those who are down and discouraged.

Have you been so discouraged that you could not bear one more discouraging word to be spoken or have one more moment of frustration to occur, but you received a random text, note on your desk, or a total stranger say a kind word to you in the grocery store check-out line? My friend, those kind words are the beauty the person rendering them is holding in their heart.

  • Beauty comes through the form of physical touch.

It comes through the arms of someone giving a hug when they need a compassionate touch or if they need some extra love at just that moment.

  • Beauty comes through the form of compassion, strength and mercy.

People who find themselves grieving or are in an unimaginable pain will see the beauty in your heart, through the compassion you have in your eyes and the soft gentle words you will speak.

They will feel the strength and mercy from your arms as you gracefully touch them or hold them.

They will also feel the beauty in your heart through the gentle touch of your hands as you help them in areas of need. Whether it is by doing their dishes, folding their laundry, or mowing their yard. The activity you do with your hands allows your beauty to shine through in a meaningful and concrete way.

My friend, the beauty God gave you is one which radiates through the darkness while bringing joy to those who are in their deepest of needs.

God’s beauty is not one that can be purchased at a hair or nail salon. It isn’t one that can be purchased at a clothing or shoe store. It is one that comes through our personality with which God instilled in our hearts.

My friend, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Remember today, you are Beautiful!!!

This is intended for the handsome gentlemen here as well. Just replace beauty with handsome and it all applies to you as well.

God’s Love is Electrifying

Journaling Journey

I am checking in before I get ready to go back to my She Steps Forward Conference . Last night was a true breath of fresh air because the energy that was in the room was electrifying. There was laughter, crying, screaming in joy, and above all, love. The love in that room was contagious and moving and I forgot how women are not afraid to have emotions, let alone show and share them.

I have become so accustomed to living in a home where there is limited to no emotion and that you do not show emotion, that to be surrounded by this energy and emotion was astounding.

We sat through two seminars last night and if the taste of them is anything like what awaits today then today will be enlightening as well.

I am excited to spend the day in the presence of God and to be touched and inspired by His love. I am excited to learn how to manage my life one step at a time, without feeling like I am sinking In a dark hole while trying to do everything. Lastly, I am also excited to learn how to manage my blog and how to focus in on the direction God wants me to take it to provide the most love and encouragement to you, my faithful followers and readers.

Have you ever had a mentor? That was a question that was asked of us last night. My daughter raised her hand, but was surprised I did not. I have had close friends, but never a mentor who guided me in various areas of my life.

An important lesson I took from last night was the importance of mentorship. God intended for us to share our lives with others and to seek out mentors to guide us in the various areas in our lives. He wants us to seek a fellowship with those who can wisely guide us in various areas of our lives so we can be the best stewards of our time and assets that He has blessed us with.

I am going to leave you with this piece of wisdom. Do you live your life isolated from people because you are going through a hard time and you know they will not understand where you are today? My friend, do not continue to stay here. God never intended for us to live a life of isolation. He wants us to be social. God created us with the need to be social. This was why He created two on the day He created Adam. He saw that it was not good for Adam to be alone so He created Eve.

Lastly, think about this, when Jesus walked the Earth and went from village to village preaching the good news about God, His Heavenly Father, did even He not travel with twelve of his closet friends? My friend, God knows it is not good for you to be alone.

My challenge to you today is this, consider reaching out to someone today and allow yourself to feel the love they have to offer. You are worth it. You are special and you have a lot going for you.

Allow yourself the grace to be touched by the hand of God through the gentle touch of a friend you have isolated from.

Disclaimer, the end got a little choppy as I am quickly running out of time to get this posted, but I feel what I wrote is important and do not want to delete it. Please forgive me for loosing track of being grammatically correct in this blog post.

Your Strength Overcomes Fatigue

Journaling Journey

Today is coming to an end and I am thankful because it has been a long day thanks to a medicine I am taking for a tooth extraction I had last week.

As much as I would have liked to have taken a much needed nap, I fought through the need and took my Kiddo to work (because she was struggling with a migraine which she had from last night). After I took her to work I pushed through the extreme fatigue and mowed my lawn because it was looking pretty shabby.

Once I finished mowing I cleaned up the back yard from my doggy’s mess, then I cut and sanded a board that will become a Special Olympics Medal Sign for my niece.

After having struggled to get my day started, I am thankful I can sit back now and say I accomplished something with my day.

I am writing about this because one of my personal battles today was finding the strength to push through my exhaustion despite my need for sleep.

I did not give in to sleeping because my daughter was struggling herself with a left over migraine from last night and she herself wanted to lay down.

I knew there was no way I was going to give in to my fatigue when my daughter could not give in to hers.

This is the day and life of living with a family member who struggles with Chronic Illnesses.

My life is not all mine, but why would I expect it to be when I am a wife and mom.

I just struggle to push through doing things I don’t always want to do, but do we not all do this?

Leave a comment below to share what you did today that took the courage and strength you did not know you had to do.

Evaluate Your Heart Today

God’s sweet reminder to us today.

I am sharing a bit of faith today.

A long post is not required because I think these words are enough to stand on their own weight.

”A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart. “Proverbs 21:2

Take some time to ponder and evaluate what God is sharing with us today.
