1 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
3 heaping Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Combine these ingredients but do not overbeat (as overbeating will give you a cake like brownie). Spread in greased squared pan. bake in a 350* oven for 20-25 minutes.

I have used this recipe for years as my go to for brownies recipe. The more you beat this batter the more cake like it will be. The least you beat it you will have ooooey-gooey brownies.
What works best for me with this recipe is to put all the dry ingredients together first. Mix this together well. Then add the liquid ingredients, but don’t overbeat at this point.
This is a very forgiving recipe. You can make it healthy by adding some flaxseed to get a fiber base added to it. You can add some oatmeal as well (my family loves it when I add oatmeal). I have added chocolate chips as well.
This is a totally yummy and easy recipe to play around with, It is very forgiving.
