Focus on The Journey Not The Destination

Encouragement Today

Today’s Encouragement is inspired by this quote by Greg Anderson,

“Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.” Greg Anderson

Think about the road trips that you have made in your life. When you were planning and packing it seemed like it would take forever to get to the final destination, but as you were preparing for the long journey you planned for exciting stops along the way to make it more enjoyable.

As you set out on the trip you knew although your final destination was hours or even days down the road, you knew the stops along the way would break up the journey making it enjoyable.

The same thing applies to life. No matter how far down the road your destination is, getting there is half the journey. My Friend, enjoy where you are right now. Enjoy the highs and the lows because they are what we learn from. We learn from things that go right and we learn from the things that go wrong because they are what shape and mold us along the way.

It is a great idea to stay focused on the destination but it is important to travel with caution to avoid falling into the trap of tunnel vision. Once this occurs the tunnel makes life harder to see the twists and turns along the way.

In life, those twists and turns are what we learn from which better prepares us for our final destination. The destination at the end is the beautiful reward to all you have gone through to get there.

My Friend, enjoy the pit stops along the way. Enjoy the twists and turns in the road and learn from all the educational opportunities life has to offer. They are what molds you and shapes your personality thus making you who you are.

This is what makes you uniquely you!
